The Seventh-day Adventist camp meeting is an event for spiritual renewal and outreach. Attendees listen to Bible sermons, pray, share personal faith stories, and sing uplifting hymns. The aim is to deepen trust in Jesus, equip attendees for kingdom mission, and strengthen bonds within the church family.
From June 16 to 21, 2025, the Washington Conference of Seventh-day Adventists held its annual camp meeting at Auburn Adventist Academy in Auburn, Washington. The event theme was “Greater Things: The Time Is Now,” and approximately 3,000 people attended the main Sabbath program on June 21.
The meeting opened Monday evening with a conference-wide welcome barbecue. Each morning, Dr. Paul Dybdahl of Walla Walla University led early devotional worship. This year, the conference also brought back the mid-morning worship feature, led by Pastor Andreas Beccai, Senior Pastor of the Walla Walla University Church. Mid-morning sessions included breakout seminars on creation science, marriage and mental health, healthful living, personal witnessing, and end-time topics. Separate daily programming served children and teenagers.
Evening worship services featured Dr. Craig Newborn, who preached a series on Revelation 4 and 5 and God’s plan for redemption. On the opening evening, Elder Doug Bing addressed the congregation on Christian service and reliance on the Holy Spirit; that our calling matters, even when we feel too weak, too unqualified, or too ordinary.
On Sabbath, a mass choir and orchestra provided music, and conference leaders prayed over new church plants and the 2025 summer-camp staff. Six individuals were baptized during the Sabbath afternoon program. The afternoon included a concert showcasing musicians from multiple churches and language groups within the conference, and that evening, Dr. Newborn delivered the final sermon of the week.
We leave Camp Meeting determined to live the theme every day. The time is now for greater things!
