Jesus Heals!

What a week it has been at the Renton SDA Church! From the moment it began, the energy in the air was palpable as motivational speaker and life coach Oscar Santana led an enlightening 7-session seminar focused on nutrition and exercise. More than just a series of lectures, this event beautifully intertwined these important topics with the powerful message of God’s love and restoration.

Each night of the seminar brought forth a distinct theme, allowing attendees to dive deep into essential aspects of health and wellness. Here’s a look at each topic and the spiritual insights Oscar shared:

  • Detox: The journey commenced with the theme of detoxification. Oscar emphasized that God desires to cleanse us from the inside out, both physically and spiritually. This session encouraged participants to reflect on their habits and consider what they might need to eliminate from their lives to experience true renewal.
  • Hypertension: The second night focused on hypertension, where Oscar discussed how God’s peace, as described in Philippians 4:6-7, opens up both our physical and spiritual circulation. He taught that by inviting God into our lives, we can calm our hearts, minds, and souls, effectively lowering our stress levels and blood pressure.
  • Cholesterol: On the third evening, the discussion shifted to cholesterol management. Oscar explained how maintaining healthy cholesterol levels reflects God’s intention for us to nurture our bodies. He encouraged attendees to make informed dietary choices that promote heart health, linking physical well-being to spiritual vitality.
  • Diabetes: The focus then turned to diabetes, where Oscar highlighted how Jesus brings balance, discipline, and satisfaction into our lives. He reminded everyone that Jesus is the Bread of Life, who does not spike our blood sugar but sustains us in every aspect of our lives.
  • Exercise: The fifth night was dedicated to the importance of exercise. Oscar inspired participants to consider their spiritual journey as an active pursuit. He urged everyone to “walk by faith” and “run the race,” emphasizing that faith is a muscle that needs to be exercised regularly to grow stronger.
  • Stress: The sixth session tackled stress management, where Oscar shared God’s Recipe for Peace from Philippians 4:6-7. He offered practical techniques for living in divine tranquility, encouraging participants to lean on their faith during challenging times.

The final session on Sabbath morning was a culmination of the previous nights, where Oscar masterfully tied all the themes together. Each topic was not just standalone; they interlinked to form a holistic understanding of health that encompasses the entire person. God’s healing is deeper; He desires to restore us completely—body, mind, and spirit.

Oscar introduced the concept of the Sozo Experience. “Sozo” means to save, heal, make whole, or preserve. This holistic approach aligns perfectly with the message of the seminar, emphasizing that God’s desire for us goes beyond mere physical health. He wants to restore the whole person—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Adding a flavorful twist to the seminar, each session concluded with a healthful smoothie recipe and samples for all attendees. This engaging element provided a tangible and delicious way for participants to incorporate nutrition into their daily lives, reinforcing the importance of making healthy choices.

The enthusiasm within the Renton SDA Church community was evident throughout the week. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions, shared personal testimonies, and fostered a sense of unity. The seminar not only educated participants on vital health topics but also reinforced the message that God’s love and restoration extends into every facet of our lives.

As the event concluded, many expressed gratitude for the insights gained and the connections made.
