On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the Renton Seventh-day Adventist Church held a meaningful and engaging “children’s church” event that focused on a foundational aspect of Christian faith: love. This special gathering was designed to introduce young members of the congregation to the concept of the fruit of the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5, and to help them understand how love plays a crucial role in their relationship with God and others.
This month, the spotlight was on LOVE, the first fruit of the Spirit. The children learned that love is not just a feeling but an action that reflects our devotion to God and our kindness toward others. The central message of the day emphasized that we show love through our actions, following the example set by Jesus Christ, who demonstrated the ultimate act of love through His death on the cross for humanity. To reinforce this powerful message, the children engaged in various activities designed to illustrate the concept of love in tangible ways. These activities served as a foundation for understanding how they can embody love in their own lives.
One of the highlights of the event was the craft activity, where the children made their own crosses. This hands-on project was not only a creative outlet but also a poignant reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice and the profound love that God has for each of us. As they crafted their crosses, the children were encouraged to reflect on how they can show love in their everyday interactions, whether at home, at school, or in their community.
A total of 17 children participated in this heartwarming event, creating an atmosphere filled with joy, laughter, and learning. Parents and guardians were invited to join in the celebration, fostering a sense of community and shared faith. This collaborative environment allowed families to discuss the importance of love and how they can model this fruit of the Spirit in their lives.
The Renton SDA Church is excited to announce that future children’s church events will continue to explore additional fruits of the Spirit. Each month will focus on one or more new qualities, deepening the children’s understanding of Christian values and encouraging them to live out these principles.
As we look forward to the upcoming gatherings, we invite families to join us on this journey of faith. Together, we can cultivate a community that exemplifies the love of Christ, demonstrating that love is not just an emotion but a powerful action that can transform lives.
