Randy Maxwell

Congratulations, Pastor Randy Maxwell!

We have exciting news to share about one of our own. On October 20, 2026, the Washington Conference executive committee voted to make Pastor Randy Maxwell the new president of the Washington Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Pastor Randy has already been leading the conference for a while. He had been serving as vice president for administration, and he recently stepped in as interim leader when Pastor Doug Bing moved on to become president of the North Pacific Union Conference.

The choice came after a careful and prayerful search led by the North Pacific Union. Pastors, teachers, principals, head elders, conference staff and committee members were all asked what they wanted in their next president. Their answers lined up: a leader who prays, acts with integrity, listens well, shows up in local churches and schools, and is focused on sharing the gospel across western Washington. Pastor Randy received strong support from every group that was surveyed, and the committee confirmed that with its vote.

Pastor Randy brings decades of experience in pastoral ministry, publishing, communication and prayer ministry. He holds a Master of Pastoral Ministry degree from Andrews University and has written nine books. Many of us know him best for his passion for helping people discover how prayer can change their lives.

After accepting the role, he said he was humbled by the committee’s support and honored to serve. He added that by God’s grace, the conference will “accomplish even greater things for the Kingdom.”

As he begins this new chapter, please keep Pastor Randy, his wife Suzette, and their family in your prayers. We are proud to call him part of our Renton church family!
