Dear church family,

When we first presented our four-phased reopening plan to you, we projected a return to church with up to 50 people in Phase 3, which would have been this weekend, June 20. This timeline coincided with the Governor’s Phased Approach for Safe Reopening that was released to the public several weeks ago.

At our live-streamed Town Hall discussing our reopening plan, we emphasized that the date of June 20 was fluid depending on whether our country had qualified for phase 3 by that time. As you know, King County has only managed to achieve Phase 1.5 status. Therefore, the church will not be reopening this weekend.

If there is a bright spot it is this. On May 27 Governor Inslee held a press conference modifying the requirements for churches. He stated that in-person worship services could be held at 25% capacity or up to 50 people, with social distancing and the wearing of face coverings at Phase 2. This is a change from the prior Phase 3 requirement. King County has applied to enter Phase 2. That application is being reviewed now. When we move to Phase 2 we will be able to set a new date for our reopening at 25% capacity. Until then, we are continuing with virtual worship services online.

Thanks for your continued prayerful and financial support during this challenging time. Know that the work of the church continues and God continues to bless our Renton family in amazing ways. Keep the faith and be very courageous for the Lord our God is with us everywhere we go.
